Where to Buy Baseboard Molding in Cherry Hill NJ (In Stock & Same Day Pickup)

If you’re searching for baseboard molding in Cherry Hill, NJ, the most important factors are simple: availability, price, and the ability to get it today — not in three weeks. Whether you’re a contractor finishing a project, an investor flipping a property, or a homeowner doing a room refresh, waiting on special-order trim is not an option.

At MDC Design Center in Cherry Hill, we stock baseboard molding, door casing, crown molding, and chair rail in multiple profiles — available same day, no special order required.

What Baseboard Molding We Stock

Colonial Profile (Most Common)

The colonial baseboard profile is the most widely installed trim style in South Jersey homes — you’ve seen it in virtually every house built between 1960 and 2010. It has a simple stepped profile with a slight top curve, available in 3.5″ and 5.5″ heights. Perfect for Colonial, Cape Cod, and ranch-style homes throughout Cherry Hill, Voorhees, and Marlton.

Craftsman / Flat Profile

The flat or craftsman baseboard profile is a clean, architectural look that works with both traditional and contemporary interiors. A flat face with a small cap rail at the top. More modern than colonial. Popular in homes being updated for resale or for buyers going for a transitional design aesthetic.

Ogee / Traditional Profile

The ogee profile has more decorative curves — a classic S-curve element that adds visual complexity. Best suited for formal rooms, older homes with traditional character, and any space where you want the trim to be a design element rather than just a base cover.

Baseboard Heights: Which to Choose

Baseboard height should scale with ceiling height. A general rule:

  • 8′ ceilings: 3.5″ baseboard is standard. 5.5″ starts to look heavy.
  • 9′ ceilings: 5.5″ baseboard looks proportional and finished.
  • 10’+ ceilings: Consider built-up baseboard (base + base shoe + cap) for a more custom, architectural look.

Matching the existing profile in your home is important when doing a partial replacement or addition. Bring a sample cut of your current baseboard to our Cherry Hill showroom and we’ll match it as closely as possible from stock.

Baseboard Material Options

Paint-Grade MDF (Most Common for Interior)

MDF (medium-density fiberboard) baseboards are the most popular choice for interior paint applications. They’re smooth, take paint evenly, don’t have knots or grain variation, and are significantly less expensive than solid wood. For any room that will be painted, MDF is the practical choice.

Solid Wood (Poplar or Pine)

Solid wood baseboard is used in spaces that will be stained rather than painted, or in situations requiring extra durability (high-traffic areas, areas near moisture). Poplar takes paint well and is harder than pine — a better choice for upscale paint-grade applications. Pine is softer but more affordable.

PVC / Vinyl Baseboard (Wet Areas)

For bathrooms, laundry rooms, basements, or any space with moisture risk, PVC baseboard is the right choice. It won’t swell, warp, or rot. It installs the same as wood, takes paint, and lasts indefinitely in wet conditions. A common mistake is installing MDF or wood baseboard in bathrooms — within a few years, the bottom swells and discolors where it contacts moisture.

How Much Baseboard Do You Need?

Measure the perimeter of each room and add 10–15% for waste and cuts. Deduct door openings (standard door width is 32″–36″). For a 12′ x 14′ room with one door:

  • Perimeter: (12 + 14) × 2 = 52 linear feet
  • Minus one door: 52 − 3 = 49 LF
  • Plus 10% waste: ~54 linear feet total

Standard baseboard comes in 8′ and 16′ lengths. Buy in 16′ lengths when possible — fewer joints, cleaner result.
